Quick Note...

I feel a bit overwhelmed today, much like the guy above.  However, instead of books, I am in the midst of grading papers for the end of the semester.  I love teaching, but I just wish I did not have to grade.  Are there any teachers out there who actually enjoy grading papers?

So much of ours is automated now - online testing is taking it's toll, but English papers, etc. still have to be pored over. I don't think any teacher REALLY enjoys it, except for the satisfaction of actually finding a gem in the slag heap! Then you know you got through and all the work was worth it.

Peace <3

Following the comment of Jay, above, Think of it just like the miners did in the San Francisco Gold Rush....a lot of rubble, but some golden gems to be found from time to time if you are lucky!!

Hope there are some real keepers there! Maybe even that poor student in your photo today! :-0

I'm thinking of pursuing a career in teaching, but grading pa.per seems to be the bane of academics. One of senior lecturers mentioned that marking papers is an exquisite form of psychological torture, lol.

This is my first semester teaching. I was excited to grade the first papers they submitted. The novelty quickly wore off! :)

I wonder what my father's students would have thought if they'd known his jr. high-school aged sone was helping to grade their papers!
