Monday

It's Monday and quite honestly, I have nothing to say. I'm writing this just before the season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones. I love this show. But other than that, I have nothing.

Joe, sorry to be puzzled. You have just returned from some days in Providence RI - nothing to comment on the visit, such as the trip back and forth, the town, the shops, the scenery, the people, etc. etc.? R.

I'm also desapointed that you didn't «report» on your trip to Providence and maybe you could have visited the wonderful mansions in Newport not far from Providence.

For Game of Thrones, I'm a great fan and did see this first 7th season premier last evening. What a canonbal overture. It gives a glimps on ALl what will be going on further on.

I didn't mention Providence because the whole trip was a bust. We didn't find what we were looking for and all we got to do while there was research and eat, and we barely got to eat. We researched files from 10 am to 5 pm both days, and we found nothing. I got to see very little of Providence. Besides Thai food for lunch both days, we had one mediocre dinner at the hotel we were staying at, and one much better dinner that was near the historical society where we were doing research. It was a long exhausing trip for nothing. I enjoyed the research but was sad we didn't find anything.

Joe, your observations about the whole trip being a bust would have been perfect for yesterday's entry. The comments on the restaurants could be expanded, to the advantage of anyone visiting Providence. R

Yeah, I know that my comments about the trip being a bust could have been Monday's post, but sometimes the tired mind doesn't think of such things. The Thai restaurant, by the way, was Sawadeeand was near the Rhode Island Historical Society on Hope Street. The other restaurant was called Red Stripe, which had excellent creme brulee. Thier poutine was fairly good, but the linguine with clams needed some parmesan cheese. Everyone else loved their food. The mediocre restaurant attached to the hotel was called the Dublin Rose. If you go to the Dublin Rose, which is in Seekonk, MA, I suggest having the shrimp tacos. The clam chowder was tasty but it was more potato and not enough clams.
