Migraine

Since Sunday, I have had an excruciating migraine. I got some relief on Monday when I went to see my physical therapist. She knows just what pressure points to press to relieve my headaches, but after a few hours it was back with a vengeance. I left work early yesterday because I was in so much pain that I was nauseated. I went home and took the strongest meds I have and went to sleep. Still no relief. Homecoming starts today, and we will be very busy the next four days. I need to be well so that I can do my part.

Poor Joe, I am so sorry for you - a bummer. Too much stress, I think. Roderick

Joe,

Sorry for the migraine pain. With a busy week too!

You've mentioned you really like your doctor. I assume the
U provides you with a first class health plan? Why hasn't your
Doc provided you with RX for triptans (Imitrex or Maxalt) These
drugs block the migraine pain pathways in the brain.

Dihydroergatomine nasal spray or injection.
All the above must be taken at onset of migraine.
Wishing the rest of your week is pain-free!

I have a very bad reaction to Imitrex. It actually intensifies my headaches by about 10 fold. It was the worst pain of my life. I literally prayed for death.

Maxalt is what I take when I have a real migraine, and it does help some. But I often have other types of headaches too which is why I take the Fioricet. Because Fioricet is highly addictive, I only take it when I absolutely need.
