It would take a massive movement and a tremendous amount if campaign money to get liberal and LGBT voters involved and get the right delegates elected to a national convention. I think the major problem is that most LGBT Americans are not politically motivated and the HRC and LGBT organizations like them often ignore the states where the climb is too difficult. If we were organized and ready, then a national convention could be worth it, but as it stands we are too apathetic and we are content to allow the shaky process of the federal courts to lead the way.Joehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05299122685163501819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5356114186987252972.post-18735712620276912392014-10-17T07:27:22.411-04:002014-10-17T07:27:22.411-04:00The person who is pushing big for a national conve...The person who is pushing big for a national convention is right wing radio host, Mark Levin, who is very hotile to our cause. He is touting it as a way the "little guys" can take back control and by that, we all know that the "little guys" are by and large going to be religious conservative Tea Party types who are going to be committed to reversing our recent gains. Well, they probably would be elected at an off-year election. And who votes in those elections?

Well, I do, for one, but I have never missed an election of any sort in my long life; but I am in the minority. The people who vote in those elections are the extremes, both left and right, for the most part. And right now, the extremes at the right side of the spectrum are the folks who gave you the Tea Party and its candidates.

No thanks!

Richardnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5356114186987252972.post-89855138006821428832014-10-16T11:40:24.639-04:002014-10-16T11:40:24.639-04:00I would be curious to see the US map of: segregati...I would be curious to see the US map of: segregational states, politic republican-democrat states.

I'm almost sure that the same states that are against equality of marriage rights and liberty rights are those same ones...

Could be interesting to compare.
