Being from Georgia though, I have also enjoyed reading Clarence Jordan's "Cabbage Patch Version" in which Jesus goes to Atlanta. It's a quaint version and very local, but I enjoyed Jordan's attempt to set the gospel in his context.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5356114186987252972.post-83416346868185470532015-05-17T20:44:28.871-04:002015-05-17T20:44:28.871-04:00I hadn't heard of "The Message" befo...I hadn't heard of "The Message" before. It's so hard to believe that so many men of the cloth refuse to recognize that even the King James Version was made to satisfy - King James! A priest of an Episcopal parish I attended from some years was the first to explain a lot of this to me. I think he knew I was gay (and much later, after his passing, I found out he was, too). Even at the time, while I was still deeply closeted, it was reassuring to know that perhaps the Bible that was so dear to me, but was being used to hammer me into the ground, could be wrong in its translation! That revelation certainly uplifted me.

Peace <3
JayAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09978841487723754585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5356114186987252972.post-43938811515946629482015-05-17T10:00:11.724-04:002015-05-17T10:00:11.724-04:00Fascinating post.
