He would not stay for me, and who can wonder
A. E. Housman, 1859 - 1936
He would not stay for me, and who can wonder?
He would not stay for me to stand and gaze.
I shook his hand, and tore my heart in sunder,
And went with half my life about my ways.
New poem to me. And sweet photo!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote, great pic.
ReplyDeleteI liked this poem specially because it touches me so much.
ReplyDeleteI met a nice Chineese 36yo man: we met in 2011 but remet in 2014.
I was and still am in love with him. He is tall, hairless, a great kisser and very gentle man.
Two days ago, he wanted to come and visit me again BUT as a friend.
So, I said no to him because it would have been too painful for me to see him by my side just as a «friend», not able to kiss or cuddle him.
Sometime, life let you meet that kind of «sweetheart» you could live your life with BUT, it's a one way love... No future..
Haunting, beautiful. Love the picture.
ReplyDeleteHadn't heard of this - love it.
