Endorsing the nuclear family grudgingly ('twould be better if workers could live on-site and move at a moment's notice, but workers gotta breed) has been replaced with the "pink dollar", ideas about museums and opera houses fueling the economy, and even the idea that women are better at business for evolutionary reasons. (Yes, tell me more about how a corporate boardroom is like the Serengeti.)<br /><br />And with 9/11 came even more neoliberalism as a reaction. More Randian "greed is good". As if to say "So, you hate secular society? Shows how much you know: Our most sacred places are shopping malls!" And that's how we got to where we are.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
