Programming Note

We are expected to experience severe winter weather here in the South over the next 24 hrs.  Rain, sleet, and snow are in the forecast for the ice storm we are expected to experience.  Only twice in my lifetime have we experienced an ice storm here, and that has not been in the last 20 years.  In the event that it is as bad as they are predicting, it is very likely that I will lose power.  In that case, this blog may go silent until I get power and internet returned.  I will set up a few posts in case that happens, but hopefully power will be restored fairly shortly if the lights do go out.  So stay tuned….

  3. The night the lights went out in...! HAHAHAA

They're predicting 3 to 8 inches of snow here, with a possible sleety mix. Ugh.

I concur with Mike: Stay warm!

    Peace <3

  4. Thanks guys. I am going to do my best to stay warm. Hopefully, it won't get too bad, though they have been predicting a half inch of ice on the roads here, which will mean we will all be stuck where we are. Whether it gets bad or not, they have already called off school tomorrow, so if we keep electricity, I can stay under the electric blanket all day, otherwise, I can stay in front of the fire and stay warm.

MAC, it's 36 degrees here and is supposed to drop to 30 tonight and be in the low 20s by mid week.

Mike, Mississippi is supposed to be pretty crazy, it is pretty crazy here too and we haven't even gotten the first drop of precipitation. Weathermen like to go nuts over stuff like this, LOL.

Jay, I hope you stay warm as well and that it won't get too bad for you. (BTW, I have always loved the Vicki Lawrence's (Mama from Mama's Family) version of that song best; though, Reba's version is pretty good too.)

  6. M@rvin, I'm going to do my best to stay warm. I don't think I have time to find a man before the storm starts, LOL. My electric blanket and cat will have to do, LOL.

  7. Jay and I are only about 100 miles from each other, but if this storm follows the Christmas storm, but with Ice instead of snow we are all toast!

Keep warm with your electric blanket on pussy Joe

  8. Tom, hopefully it wont' be too bad. I just looked at the radar and if the Weather Channel's futurecast can be believed, I am actually in this tiny little area where we will see very little rain and not much else. Here's hoping.

  9. Joe: TIme to make a big thermos of hot chocolate, tea or coffee just in case the power does go out. Hopefully you were a boy scout so you can rough it a couple of days if need be. Bundle up to stay warm. Too bad I'm not there, I have fetish for flashlights if they power ever goes out I've got at least 7 of them to choose from.

  10. FOC: I did make a thermos of tea to keep me warm. Thankfully, I never lost power. And sometime, you are going to have to tell me of this flashlight fetish of yours, LOL. (I probably just have my mind in the gutter, haha!) And to bad you aren't here, I'm sure you could keep me warm.
