Mother’s Day

flw 604743_slonecznikowe-pole

I hope that we all think of our mothers today. I love my mama, but like all mothers, she drives me crazy sometimes. She has been in a long, five year period of depression since she found out I was gay, but that was relieved somewhat by the birth of my niece, so she now has the grand-baby she always wanted. She is still convinced I am going to hell, but she doesn't say it as much anymore. As long as it is a "don't ask, don't tell, don't discuss" situation, we get along great.

So even if your mother drives you crazy, I hope that you still have a good relationship with her and tell her how much you love her today.

I love you, Mama.

(She would surely die if she ever saw this blog, but I did choose a picture of sunflowers because they are her favorite.)

  1. It must be agonising to live with the belief that one of your children is going to hell - as if death were not bad enough in itself. What an evil doctrine, and what a sickening, divisive religion Christianity is. I loathe it.

  2. I have no idea if my mother ever suspected my sexuality or not, but alas, she'll never know as she passed away in 1998. If, as many believe, she is looking down on me, then yes, she knows, and I'm sure her love for me has not diminished, much as my love for her has never lessened. She was the greatest mother a boy could ever have. Blogger won't let me list all the superlative adjectives that describe her, so I'll use only one: PERFECT!

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there!
    Peace <3

  3. So many of our moms have a hard time dealing with our sexuality. I suspect over time with my mom it could become a don't ask, don't tell sort of situation. It seems that way now that I strongly hinted that I am seeing someone.

Despite so many contradictions we love our mothers!

  4. VS, some people do make Christianity and so many religions divisive, but sadly they are so wrong. It can be such a wonderful thing, especially when we can just grasp the greatness of God's love.

Jay, mothers often think that their kids are God's gift to them, however, they are God's gift to us, even if they don't always understand us.

You are absolutely right, Mike. It takes time, but eventually mother's come to accept the truth. Some, like my mother, take longer than others, but eventually she will.
