Sad, But True

Kids like this really get on my last nerve.  I asked on a test the other day "Who wrote the Federalist Papers and how did they sign their name?"  The answer is easy: John Jay, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton wrote the Federalist Papers, each signing with the pseudonym "Publius."  Yet, the answer I received: "Men with ink."  I was furious.  I hate smartass answers.

However, since the above is not one of my students, I do find the answers a tad bit humorous.

On a completely different note, HRH turns 15 years old today.

  1. Happy Birthday HRH!

As far a the answers go, they were clever and spelled correctly. I really thought that the sad part was going to be that a teacher both thought of and then distributed this questionnaire. It says a lot about both the teacher and the students she/he teaches.

  2. I think that this student is part of what we call here «KING-KIDS»... Not sure for the translation of «enfants-rois»...

The kind of children that never had a «NO» for answer and think that they can do or think anything witouth any consequences.
That EVERYBODY find them so cute and clever and... and...

I used to say to those «bratts»:" You know, I'm not your parents and I'M NOT oblige to love you..."

TGIF for you and enjoy your weekend off...

  3. As a teacher myself (postsecondary), I found these answers quite funny... and a teachable moment. Nothing to get angry over, as anger just creates even more confusion in a classroom.

  4. I will give whomever wrote the answers above one thing: that person can spell. I saw no misspelled words, including "efficiency". You have to give him credit for that!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HRH!!! And many more, I hope!!! Make sure he gets and extra sardine in his dinner tonight.

    Peace <3

  5. If this was real, the kid should be complemented for his creative thinking and originality.

I'm still chuckling about the 'men with ink' line also.

  6. The answers were the most sane response possible to an inane questionnaire. These people should be studying biochemistry, quadratic equations or Shakespeare. They should not be wasting their time fantasizing about the horrors of being "found with food or drink, in the class" (sic).
