The year 2013 was a difficult year for me in many ways. I never really talked about it on my blog, but I had some severe financial difficulties. Thankfully, those difficulties are being resolved.
However, I am looking so forward to 2014. I truly believe that it will be a monumental year. I'm going to be an uncle again in July, and I could not be happier. I'm hoping this year will be the year that I find love. I, like many people, hope to get in better shape physically. I also hope to improve my health and well being.
I've never been keen on New Years resolutions, because they are almost always impossible to keep. However, this year, I have three that I plan to keep. First of all, I am going to be more positive and optimistic. I try to do this anyway, at least for those around me, but it resolve to this this for me as well. I will eat healthier and exercise more so that I build up my endorphin levels and feel better (this one might be a hard one, but it will try). My second resolution is to be more proactive in making myself happier. Which means, I am going to live each day to the fullest, and not shy away from opportunities. It also means that I am going to be more outgoing and build my self esteem. My second resolution means that I am going to work on personal growth, and this may be the most difficult of them all. My last resolution is that I am going to read more. This is my easiest resolution. For the past two years, I have not read as much as I would like to, with the exception of during the summers, but I resolve to do more reading. I'm not promising to read great literature, though I probably will do some of that, but knowledge comes from reading, no matter what I read, I always learn something.
I wish all of you a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2014! Happy New Year!
HERE'S TO A FABULOUS 2014!!! XOXO MAC

ReplyDeleteThis is an great resolution and something I am keenly interested in. The key question is "how." How do you do this? The answer is surely different for every person, but I'd like to understand what you will do to accomplish this resolution. I think we could all learn from sharing on this topic.
Joe,
ReplyDeleteI am so grateful that I discovered your blog in 2013. I wish you all the best for 2014. You deserve all the happiness in the world and you're taking the right steps to make that happen. :-)
Hugs!
Robert
All my warmest wishes for 2014 from Québec were we're having some really «polar» temperature these days...
ReplyDelete-25°C with a -35°C with the wind factor....(-13°F wind f. -31°F)
Even with those extremly low temperature, there were over 50 000 people in Old Québec to celebrate the new year last night...
DJ,fireworks and more....
(((( HUGS ))))
I always enjoy reading your blog entries. I've never commented on any of the entries but I wanted to do that today.
ReplyDeleteI believe that we all can have resolutions to improve our lives. I personally have given up making resolutions but during the year I sometimes do a lot of self-talk. I had a health scare at the end of 2013 and I am most grateful to be recovering. If there is a resolution to be made it is practicing gratitude.
I wish you the best for this new year.
Glad you are starting the year on a positive note. If you need a loan let me know and I will see if I can help. I have followed you for a pretty long time and you seem trustworthy
ReplyDeleteThis year the theme for my goals (I don't call them resolutions)is "progress, not perfection." I read somewhere that the road to your goal is part of the goal, and so I think moving in the direction I want to go will itself be good.
ReplyDeleteMay 2014 be a year of joy!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, JoeBlow!
