Totally with you on this one, Joe. Cats are the best. I can watch them play for hours, or become mesmerized just petting and listening to their amazing purr. There is nothing else like it. Definitely a "Moment of Zen."
Must admit that cats are more easy to keep in a city apartment.
I had both and, last year, adopted a 2yo serengeti cat: Thomas.
Unfortunalty I had to sell him because he had become more and more agressive. I couldn't go to bed peacefully. He often jump on my arm and bite me and scratch me.
During day time, he was very correct and even posed and go around nicely without touching anything in the house..
It was the first time I had such an «agressive» cat in my life. And I did have many ones before.

My siamese cat, Café, was so nice and loveable. She did give me 4 kittens and came on me to have them.... She was so happy that I've saved her from freezing weather.
That was in 1976-77...
IF I ever adopt another cat, I'll have it as a kitten for sure...
The kitties are so cute! Pets are so unconditional with their love. :)
