On My Way Home

I received nothing but good feedback from the group who interviewed me. They will not make a decision though until next week.  They have two more interviews, but I've been told by several that they really like me and were very impressed with my credentials.  They continued to spend most of the time trying to convince me that I want the job.  I'm already convinced.  I was trying to convince them to hire me.  So I hope I did convince them that they want me, and I want to be there.

If it is in the morning when you read this, I am probably in an airplane flying home.  I hope it's an airplane more sturdy than the paper airplanes in the picture.

  1. This still sounds like great news, just sorry there are now more candidates. Enjoy the journey home and then get some well-needed rest! The prayers will continue.

  2. Good news from you. As for the "paper airplanes"...let me have control of the gear stick / joy stick I see hanging between his legs....

  4. The Academic here. The standard hiring procedure is for a search committee to make a short list of three candidates, then to interview the three in order of their suitability and desirability, and finally hold a formal meeting at which the hiring committee making a recommendation to hire which is voted on (the recommendation not always being accepted, honesty forces me to point out). So you have been involved in a real search, was the first and so preferred candidate and hopefully will be recommended to the meeting by the search committee. But, to correct the John Bunyan quote in my previous, "he is that is down needs fear no fall, he that is low no pride, he that is humble ever shall have God to be his guide."

  5. These are good news and I hope they'll understand that YOU are the best candidate for the job....

AND praying for the two others to «fail» their interview..
I know, it's not very «Christian» to think that way but, as I like you most, you're the one I pray for.

    Hope that you'll have it.
