Taking a Day Off

When I said the other day that I was overwhelmed, I meant it, so I am basically taking a day off from blogging.  First off, I've been kind of sick all weekend.  Second, there is so much whirling around in my head that I have no idea what to write.  Today, I will mostly spend packing and making a few phone calls in an attempt to find a place to live.  I also have a bit of paperwork to fill out as a new hire.  It's quite likely that if I can find the right place this week and can work things out, I will be starting my new job a week from today; otherwise, my start date will be pushed back two more weeks.

  1. Dealing with the combination of a move and a new job IS overwhelming. Even separately they are cause for anxiety. I am not surprised you haven't been feeling well. You are now in stress mode and your body is reacting. Please be sure to take some quiet time each day to settle, regroup, and think positive thoughts.

  2. I second Susan here and can also add that according to many psychologists, getting a new job AND moving in a new location are the most hard things to experience in a psychologic point of view.

Take time to cool down and assure you that the «future will be better»...

Now you're at that «bridge» point to cross over and reach that new life of yours.

I'm sure it'll be far most rewarding than you imagine...

All my best «prayers» for your health too..

  3. Just rest and relax. Take it easy and don't stress. Everything will work itself out. Prayers and positive thoughts for you. :)

  4. A simple bit of advice I heard once was, "Pause when agitated."
Or -- Stop. Inhale, exhale. Repeat.

  5. By all means, if you want to take a day off from blogging, take it off; take it all off. ;)

  6. Yes, obviously a life changing event and very stressful. But you will get through it all just fine. You certainly deserve to take a restful break from blogging. You know we will be here for you whenever you need us. I am very happy and proud of you for being able to recover from adversity and make such a great move!
