I talked to the museum director the morning. I did find out that I was not the only person they were bringing up, so there is still work to be done in the prayer department. I need to sharpen my interview skills, but I gather that this will be a more informal interview. I'm disappointed to find out that others are still being considered but that was also expected as a possibility. I'm excited about all the other possibilities of this job though. The pay is good, the benefits are spectacular, and location is close to ideal. The job will be in New England, though I don't want to say yet which state. I will let you know the state when I have more definitive news. If all works out and I do get the job, I know I'll freeze my balls off this winter, but I'm looking forward to a real winter, and the autumn colors are supposed to be truly awesome there.

For the temperature in New England, well it's no that bad.
Sure our winters are somewhat cold but, imagine the fun to be in bed with your BF and cuddle to warm the things up... ;-)..

Truly spectacular news!! I am SO happy for you. Not only for the job possibility, but also for the chance to get out of that state you currently live in. I know that you are probably of two minds on that score, but believe me, you need to do this!

I lived in New England for several years (Boston area) and lives in Rhode Island while on a sabbatical at Brown. Loverly! Here's really hoping strong hopes.
ReplyDeleteJoe, the prayers have never stopped. Remember, they already liked how you presented yourself in the phone interview and are impressed with your background and skills. This interview is a chance for both sides to see whether you would be comfortable in an environment different than you are used to. Hopefully you will make that very clear to them! :)

I dare say its only to be expected that they are also considering someone else. Let them see how keen you are and willing to make the move, but dare I say you may also need to tale a step back and not overplay how desperate you are to get this. Life often kicks us in the face by dangling something wonderful in front of us and then snatching it away - happened to me a few times - leaving us totally crushed as we know it would be so right for us. Good luck with it, I am sure you will present yourself in the best possible light.
