I'm still not feeling 100 percent, so I thought I'd do something a bit different today. I want each of you to look at this picture and tell me what comes to mind. It can be one word, a sentence, or even a paragraph.
For those of you who this picture evokes no particular thoughts, I'm going to give you a prompt. It obviously looks as though he is thinking something, pondering, you might say. What is he thinking about?
I obviously like this picture, but I want to know: What does it say to you? What feelings/emotions does it evoke? Do you even like the picture?
Feel free to answer one, all, or any number of the question. I'd like to hear your thoughts today.
He is a just barely legal trick for the night, on one of his first encounters, having stripped himself of his clothing, standing nude against the wall of the hotel room, watching his customer as the customer pleasures himself. He is wondering if it is worth it, and what will the man do with/to him...will it be pleasure or pain? Will it be a one time encounter? Will he pay enough, or give a tip as well? He thinks the guy is rather well hung, and does not want to be raped.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for your questions about the photograph, the title to the post (which I saw first) immediately made me think of a brother in the monastery who used to joke, "I'm pondering eternal verities." We all totally knew he wasn't.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, the photo elicits calm and a sense of not thinking about anything in particular, just being at ease with himself in his own skin. (And lovely skin it is!) So perhaps it is a Zen moment.
Of course, this reaction on my part may result from the fact that I just woke up and am still somewhat blank-minded myself.
Looks like a pose from a female high fashion magazine such as Vogue.
ReplyDeleteWith such an awkward tilt of the body and an arm over head, he cannot be deep in thought. It is obviously a posed shot and not a casual pic of someone caught thinking about much at all. Plus he is looking into the camera so he has to be aware of what is happening in front of him. If I were to give him any thoughts at all, he could be wondering how much longer he'll have to stand in this crazy position before the blood drains from his arm and he starts to feel a pull in his side.
ReplyDeleteVery posed. Supposed to convey "I am not intimidated" but mostly conveys boredom. Also, he's so young. There isn't much "there" there yet.
ReplyDeleteHe is thinking: "I have to get dressed. I haven't a thing to wear. I wish I could stay this way all day." (Sorry for the note of levity.)
