To cheer you up, look at the latest poll on gay marriage. Support stands at 70% with opposition at 30%, about as good as it can get. Opposition is of course (a) Republicans and (b) Evangelical Christians. Support is also strong for the passage of a law guaranteeing gay marriage and gay rights. Don't be so optimistic, the SCOTUS is now full of Evangelical-Republicans judges that gay marriage will NEVER past to law.
USA is still going to live like in the 50-60's denying the right to any other social group than straight-monogamus-white people to get married.
Up here in Canada we don't speak of «gay marriage» but of «gay civil union» avoiding the religous word of «marriage».. Isn't it what matter most is that the same civil previleges can be garantied to ANYONE that love each other?
Our rights are also intimately part of our Canadian Charter of Rights and Liberty that was proclamed in 1982 adding it to our new Canadian Constitution. Our 1867 Canadian Constitution was updated then...
It would be time to «update» yours. Just mentionning your OLD Second Amendement is making sense that it isn't up to date will those modern mass destruction weapons circulating freely in USA. How many more deaths by assault AK 47 can American stand again?
