Pic of the Day

Is your Christmas tree up yet? I never get a live tree because they are too messy and I have carpet. However, I might buy one if he was cutting it down for me.

  3. Cutting Christmas Trees: Not so simple!

On my long list of crappy, college, weekend jobs this was one of them. This young man seems to be enjoying himself; no doubt he related to one of the owners..or this is his first time cutting a fresh tree.

Anyone who has ever cut down a fresh tree knows NOT to cut the bottom until it’s had a chance to rest for a few days. We would tell customer to take it home and set the tree in their garage, or one the back deck. This way all the spiders, bugs and other critters could climb out before taking it indoors. Plus, the sap and resin wouldn’t be dripping. Looking at this guys saw blade, clearly indicates how much moisture was still in the root trunk.

Yeah, the kid seems happy! Good for him. Hope he has that same smile when it’s time to clean the darn chainsaw. That’s why ppl BRING hand saws.

Youth is a wonderful thing…until reality kicks in.
