I was thinking about what to write about this morning. I thought about how this had been a rough week because of a migraine I’ve had since Sunday, but I didn’t want to just complain. The problem is, as much as I tried, I couldn’t come up with anything else, and I really don’t want to complain about my week. Thankfully, I’ll be working from home tomorrow, and I can just relax and take it easy over the weekend.

My heart goes out to you for your continuing migraine problems, but I admire your taste in male pics. They are beautiful, although handsome is probably more appropriate. Whatever, thinking of you.

Do you ever take pain meds for these headaches? Might also help you get some sleep.
ReplyDeleteRB, I do take pain relievers, but I’m limited in what I can take. I take Anaprox, which is a higher than normal dose of naproxen, but it can only be taken every 12 hours. Acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and aspirin, are more likely to cause “medicine overuse headaches.” For the really bad ones, I additionally take naratriptan and hydroxyzine, but I limit taking these because me to be extremely drowsy for about two days. The headache I’ve had the last few days has been my trigeminal neuralgia acting up because of weather.changes. It’s a different type of pain, but painful nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor uses Tramadol or a low dose of Percocet. Seems to help him.
ReplyDeleteRB, in the past, I have tried Tramadol, but it never really helped. Percocet, on the other hand, did help a lot. I only took Percocet for the truly awful headaches, those in which even the softest pillow felt like trying to sleep on granite. However, Tramadol and Percocet are opioids and are very difficult to get prescriptions for these days. In the South, doctors would be a little bi more lax with barbiturates (I have tried those too) and opioids, but they are extremely strict about it in New England. Because they are highly addictive, they have a high risk of causing medication overuse headaches. If they get too bad, I can always go to my doctor and get a shot of Toradol, and with the worst ones, a trip to the emergency room for a higher dose of Toradol with the addition of oxygen and fluids take care of those. However, both of those options are expensive, especially the ER.
ReplyDeleteOxygen helps your headaches? You could get a bottle of oxygen at your house and use as necessary.
ReplyDeleteRB, oxygen is one of the things that seem to help. The ER told me that Toradol, fluids, and oxygen was their migraine cocktail, and it did help a lot. At the grocery store, they sell small individual bottles of oxygen, and I’ve considered buying one, but haven’t tried it yet. Maybe I need to.
