The Root of the Problem 🦷

I have to go to the dentist today for two of the most dreaded words in dental work: root canal. Yes, I have to have a root canal this afternoon. I lost a filling in a tooth a while back and the nerve in the tooth has died. While it has not caused any signs of pain, when I went to the dentist a few weeks ago for a cleaning, the x-ray showed that there was the beginning of a small infection near that tooth. The infection has not caused any problems or pain so far, but that might have to do with the nerve in that tooth already being compromised. Anyway, I’ll spend roughly two hours of my afternoon in a dental chair today.

On a brighter note, here’s your Isabella fix for the week. She decided to supervise my cooking the other night:
I don’t think she approved of the ingredient I just added.
Now, she seems just surprised and maybe skeptical of whatever ingredient I’d just added.
Maybe at this point I’m getting at least tacit approval.

  3. Hope you are recovering well from your root canal.

I had a couple of root canals a few months back. One was from an old filling that broke, along with a portion of my tooth. My dentist built things up, placed a crown, and we were waiting and seeing what would happen. Finally, things were not getting better so off I went to get the root canal. I had two prior due to the roots of the teeth changing colors and prior infections that manifested itself in bumps in the gums. It was explained this was the easy route of the infection to release itself. Who knew. I had zero pain. I tell you my endodontist was excellent. He is from the South and is charming and cute as one can be. He took time to explain everything. He was efficient but not in a rush. And the modern technology just amazed me. I had no pain. None. I could have taken a nap. I did my after-procedure Tylenol/Ibuprofen regimen as prescribed and I was set to go.

Glad you are getting things remedied before the holidays. We want you ready to go to enjoy all the foods of the season.

    Best of health.

  4. I did not feel any pain. It was an easy root canal. The dental assistant said it’s one of the quickest and easiest they had ever done. I’m still numb and have to go back for the crown next month.

    1. Great!! I was going to comment on the timeframe of the root canal but needed to know all the details of the procedure. With forward advances in endodontist care, it is not like the times of old. Have a great weekend. Get out and get some sun.
