Moment of Zen: Coffee or Tea?

In the mornings, I tend to prefer a hot cup of tea, but sometimes I drink a cup of coffee. I'm not sure why I prefer tea in the mornings, but I've always liked hot tea. For years, I've gone through periods of drinking tea in the mornings, and then I will go back to coffee for a while. Which do you prefer as a wake me up in the morning: coffee or tea?

Hi Joe. Nice pics. I want coffee in the morning with breakfast. By around 2:30pm if I want another fix, I will switch to decaf. I tend to drink tea if my stomach is upset/nauseated, or when I am coming down with/have a cold.

For sure I need my two cups of very black roasted coffee in the morning.

I like tea too and I drink mostly Earl Grey hot tea for dinner or supper with my dessert.
I also have a quite variety of teas as green tea, black tea or oolong tea.

I hot summer times I love iced tea for sure and this since I was a teenager.

JiEL, I wish I could drink Earl Grey, but the bergamot in it triggers my migraines, as does hibiscus. I like most other types of tea (green, white, black, oolong, herbal, rooibos), but I especially like a strong English (or Irish, if I can find it) breakfast tea (Tazo's Awake is my current favorite). I'm about to make another cup right now. As for iced tea, I grew up on sweet iced tea in Alabama, and I still love it. Hot or cold weather, it doesn't matter.

I love my coffee---QUALITY coffee---None of this on the grocery store shelf stuff---Here in Denver we have a few good coffee places---I have it ground for a French Press---I love coffee in the morning and through out the day---I have been known to drink coffee at night and an hour or so later be in bed sound asleep---Oh yes, I like my coffee HOT---I don't mind if it cools down while sitting there but it has to arrive HOT---The same with my food---The dowside of having so many coffee houses in Denver is that they don't serve the coffee hot enough---I don't mean burn your tounge hot but hot---If I can drink your coffee like iced tea then we have a problem---And I don't like iced coffee---I remeber when this cold brew crap came into being a few years ago---I was in my favorite coffee house is Alexandria, VA, and the manager came up to me and asked me if I would taste this cold brew that he was thinking of offering to customers---I tried it and it was terriable---Each to their own---

Tea---I do love a cup of tea at night wth a little desert---I have been thinking lately of moving from the teabag stuff to the full on tea experience---The infusor--Leaves--I do let my tea and coffee steep for at least 6 minutes--

PS---Can someone move to Denver and teach the coffee houses how to make a SCONE---People is NOT a biscuit shaped like a scone---I don't want to go to the Brown Palace-Denver--Get fancy for afternoon tea---

Jim and I prefer coffee... we go through at least 1 new Keurig machine a year.. just wear them out. We go from the high octane in the AM to the kick me back decaf stuff in the evening. We drink Green tea with Asian food and Herb lemon ginger zinger tea when we don't feel well. In the summer months I like peach flavored Ice Tea.. jim prefers his plain unsweetened. Yes, to each his own. P.S. We live in Denver and wouldn't waste our money at the Brown Palace... too damn snooty for our taste.

I am not a coffee drinker it just doesn't appeal to me. I can force myself to drink it if it's the only option available. Hot Tea is great for when I am ill or just to warm up in the winter. Otherwise I prefer Iced Tea but my go to drink is soda.

Love the photos!

Pot of coffee in the morning, tea in evening so I don't have to get up and pee all night.
