Scratches

When you have kittens you have to expect a few scratches.  The good thing is that they aren't scratching the furniture, the bad thing is they are accidentally scratching me.  Not once have they mean harm, but their little claws are so sharp, they don't know how sharp they are.  I have scratches on my chest, my stomach, my arms, and my legs.  If you don't watch her, Lucy will climb up your pants leg because she wants to be held.  Edith just goes everywhere either running full speed or hopping around.

Another thing, I have to put them away if I want to jack off.  They pounce on anything that moves.  It's worth it though.  The kittens are so fun to watch. Seeing them jump and play and run around.

Kittens are the best! Enjoy them while they are so young. Love it especially when they chase each other's tail. :)

I had a cat about 11 years ago... we have 2 Shih Tzus now. My kitty was a sweetheart, but she would tear up our furniture. I considered de-clawing her, but never went through with it.

What's your views on de-clawing?

I had a kitten named Hobbes when I was prior at Holy Hill back in the early '90s. She loved to sit on my lap and swat at the loose sleeve of my habit. As a result, my arms were covered with scratches!

But, as you say, it was a small price to pay for the fun of watching him play.

Yeah (blushes)

It's so funny because Edith only has a little nub if a tail because she's a bobtail, and she chases Lucy's tail all the time, that is when Lucy isn't chasing her own tail.

HRH was declawed, but my parents had it done to her while she was living with them. I don't particularly like it because it takes away their defenses and they often become biters. It's also kind of painful for the cat. I prefer a declawed cat, but I can't bring myself to do it.

It is a small price. Though waking up this morning to Lucy trying to nurse on my shoulder was quite a shock and she was quite loud about it too.

Yes, those kitten's claws are so sharp...

Had the experience with "Valentine", a female tigger-siameese I bought for my ex BF in 2011.
She did make some damage to furniture and curtains...
But we had her de-clawed in early age (3 months) but just the front ones in the same time she was sterilized.

Now, I have a 2yo Serengeti cat who wasn't de-clawed. My chance is that he doesn't touch furniture. He just do his claws on the carpet of my bedroom and it doesn't do any damage to it..

As you, he can scratch me sometimes so I cut his claws to get ride of the sharp edge of them.

When I first had him in January he was VERY pist of when I tried to do it at first...
Now, he doesn't like it but he is less agressive when I cut them...

I think that if you cut their claws when they're young, they will be used to it and it'll be easier each time...

For sure, you have to be carefull not to cut near the vein in the claw...

Enjoy them as they're still kittens. So fun...

Have a nice weekend.

I probably will trim their claws.
