Frolic like an Egyptian

funny pictures history - Frolic like an Egyptian.
see more Historic LOL

I never have been much for Eighties music, but I always loved the Bangles song, "Walk Like an Egyptian."  I don't know why, because it was always kind of goofy, but that's me I guess.  I saw this picture on Historic LOLs and it made me laugh, maybe you will too.

Is there a goofy song from your past that you always loved, but hate to admit?

You may have noticed that I changed my blog layout a little.  Part of that is because of a few new features that I have added.  One of those features is a list of suggested readings that are listed on the right.  All are available from Amazon.com.

Also, on the left, I added some polls.  I have been running this blog for over a year now and though I have gotten to know some of you, I know that most of you do not comment, so I haven't had a chance to get to know you.  There are two polls I have added so that I can get to know you better.  One asks what your profession is.  I really wanted to know how many teachers and students that I have reading my blog, but I thought I might try to be more inclusive.  The other poll is for those teachers and students of the humanities.  I would like to know what your discipline is.  I hope you will take a second to click on your answers and submit.  I would greatly appreciate.

One last thing, I am just a few votes shy of being featured on Best Male Blogs' Top Rated Up and Coming Blogs, so if you haven't voted, I hope you will consider voting for me. I hope you enjoy this blog enough to vote 5 starts.

Best Male Blogs - naked men, gay porn, homo culture, queer blogs

Feel free to tell me what you think of the new layout.  Thanks for reading, thanks for voting, and thanks for stopping by.  I hope you guys have a wonderful day.

Where is the link to vote for you on Best Male Blogs? And is it SFW or at least S-ish?

Just a couple of technical things. I scrolled down to read the Suggestions From section but it doesn't show. I realize this could be my computers issue but just in case I thought I'd mention it.

Also I took both your polls. I'm not a teacher and not a registered student, though I spend my life learning as much as possible. For the first poll, I clicked Other: I'm a librarian assistant. For the second poll, I clicked Literature, though my mouse must have shifted the poll, because it claims that I've clicked on History...oh well, I like History as well. I graduated with a BA in English.

As for 80s music, the silliest song that I can't help but to dance is The Safety Dance by Men Without Hats. Though my favorite all time 80s song is Words by The Missing Persons!

Writer,

The link for Best Male Blogs is underneath the "Suggestions From" box or I added the a link within the post. You can either click on the hyperlink "Best Male Blogs" or on the little widget just below that. BTW, if you click on those links, the page you will be taken to is SFW, but the rest of the pages may not be because on the main page it shows a preview of the other blogs, of which some are NSFW.

The Suggested From box is showing for me, but I will look into it further.

Thanks for voting in the polls and for commenting. I'm not terribly familiar with the songs you listed, but then again a lot of 80s music was silly, and I try hard not to have to listen to it, LOL.

I voted...

And I work in education, but as a systems administrator for a school system...definitely not the humanities!

Songs from the 80's.....hmmmmm....I think I slept through the 80's, because I can't think of anything from then that I listened to at all! Old timer's disease, I expect.

Love the blog layout, but don't see the suggestions either.

Peace <3

Thanks, Becca and Jay.

Jay, I don't remember much of it, I was still a kid.

Writer and Jay, what browser are you using. I have checked it with Chrome, Firefox, and Explorer and it shows up for me in each one. It does not, however, show up on the mobile version, as none of the widgets show up on it.

Joe: Five stars for you!

btw, I'm using Safari and all the new features show up for me, which is unusual. Usually when something doesn't work, it's because I'm using Safari. Those damn plug-ins still crash way too often.

Thanks, FOC. I'm glad that all of the new features are working for you. Hopefully, any kinks have now worked themselves out.
