While overnight we were expecting rain and warmer temperatures, snow has been on the ground the last couple of days. As a southerner, I get fascinated by snow. As someone who lives in Vermont, snow is quite aggravating. If I could stay home and watch it snow, I'd be happy for it to snow, snow, snow, but rarely do we have that luxury. We have to go to work which means getting out and scraping your car of ice and brushing off all the snow. I hate doing that. Which in turns means, I've begun to hate snow.
Just to clear something up, I was just ranting about snow. It still fascinates me. I'm just lazy some mornings and hate having to go scrape ice off my car. Brushing the snow off isn't too bad.

Well, seems that you've not integrate the notion of «NORTH AMERICA».
Snow is, in Canada, something we've learned to live with and not against. I like it more than having some hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes or volcanoes, etc..
I nice snowstorm is something magical and it lets the nature covered with such white nice cover.
You have to adapt to it because in Chicago, they have really big snowstorms too.
If i were you, I would be grateful to live in a «snowy» state that is WARMFUL to you in regard of being gay more than living in a HOT state like Alabama where you had to hide yourself and being always confronted with a narrow minded population.
I maybe live in «cold» country for 5 months of the year, but I know that Canadians are warm hearted people to ALL, no matter their religion, race or sex orientation.
Canada IS the real LAND of LIBERTY.
If those comments of your truly reflect your attitude towards snow, you'd better consider staying in Vermont. In the late 70's I was on a business trip to Chicago when the city had the blizzard of all blizzards. There was so much snow that the city had no place to put the stuff, so they wound up dumping the stuff into the Chicago River. I was unable to get a flight out of the city for a week and the Mayor wound up losing her job at the next election because of the ineptitude of the public works department. And then there are the biting winds to contend with.
The good news is that usually you will not have to worry about scraping snow off of a vehicle because only fools own cars in the downtown area and public transportation is by far the better way to get about.

While I understand your dislike of having to venture out in the snow, at least it beats wild fires, mud slides, droughts, floods, and hurricanes. I'm from Buffalo, NY; winter is the dominant season here. While people make jokes about our weather, at least it stays outside! Take heart, snow and cold are far better than some other weather options.
Binge out on Netflix; take up a new hobby; get involved in a winter sport, and be at peace with nature. At least you have a warm, safe, and comfortable home to shelter in. Be thankful in all things.

I agree with others that there are weather conditions much worse than snow, but snow — beautiful when falling and when new fallen — is still a nuisance when there's more than an inch or two on the ground.
