The Michael Jackson song says, "It don't matter if you're black or white." Since Barack Obama became president, racism has surged in America. With the election of Donald Trump, racism has come to a head. He has empowered those who are most racist. It is his greatest crime as president. America is made up of immigrants and people of different races. It is probably the most diverse country in the world. It's our blessing and our curse. There will always be those who believe that America should be dominated by the white race, they will always be wrong. America's original motto was E pluribus unum, Latin for "out of many, one." It remained the de facto motto until 1956 when an act of Congress changed the motto to "In God We Trust." The fact is though that our Founding Fathers chose "out of many, one" as our motto because they believed it took many different people to make one great nation. They may not have believed that included African-Americans at the time, but I believe they would today. America made a great mistake when they allowed slavery to exist on this continent. America has not had a perfect history with minorities, far from it, but no country can claim to have perfectly treated minorities. We can be better though, and we need to rid ourselves of a president who lends credence to and empowers racists.

USA isn't the only country to have many kind of races in it.
Few years ago I was teaching in a «multi cultural» high school and we had 73 different nations of students. Students who were immigrants to Montreal.
Some recent others the second or third generation.
I also was teaching in another high school where there was 50 different nation in it.
Canada was founded by French at first but was invaded in the 18th century by the England. Canada is a bilingual country. Many nations are part of our heritaqe like Irish, Italians and Jews. In the times when you were in slavery system, here in Canada we had many American blacks that came here to avoid your slave plantation.
Today, with so many races living in PEACE in our country, we have not the same «point of view» as many Confederate States in USA because slavery isn't really part of our DNA.
In Canada today, there are no such «racism» or «sexist» as you are experiencing in USA and more since «45» is in office.
Even more, since "HE" is in Washington, he is scrapping ALL what Obama «tried» to do. One of its consequences is that we're having a flood of Haïtians coming through our border (more than 8000 since June) and our border and immigration officiers are over flooded with all those asking for protection and shelter in our country.
By cancelling Obama's directive to give shelter to those Haïtians after the 2010 earthquake, he panicked them because it's nonsense to get them back in Haïti, a country that is still struggling.
The worst is that most of those melted in USA, have jobs and pay taxes and more, they have honest lives.
There is a BIG issue in USA and it begins in Washington.
Also, many other countries (including Canada) that are beginning to be fed up with USA acting is such ways without Charity and more open mind.
By shutting your country down to any other trade or exchanges, your isolating yourself from the whole world and USA will sooner or later suffocate economically and politically.
When I'm looking to CNN of FOX NEWS, I see a country self centered and not really open to other news around the world and surely not from what is going on in Canada.
Just the weather forecast is an example to see that weather NEVER come thru the borders, North of South.
AMERICA, USA, WAKE UP before it's too late.
Stop acting like morons even if you have one in office.
