What outrages me is that the police and the security forces failed to grasp the potential threat of a coup attempt and did not take appropriate counter measures that would ensured the safety of the Congress. I wonder if Cruz et al. will persist, when the counting resumes, with their filibuster - who knows? And at least Twitter finally had the guts to remove Trump's tweet. They should suspend his account for 14 days. Roderick
Roderick, I agree with you, and I suspect there will be Congressional hearings over Capitol security when this is over. I also think that Congress should impeach Trump again, whether before or after he leaves office. (There is a debate as to whether they can impeach him after he leaves, but courts would have to decide that.) he needs to be impeached in order to bar him from ever serving in office again. He needs to be punished for all his crimes and never again be allowed to even contemplate running for president.
What happened on Capitol Hill is a disgrace for USA and it was filled with fuel by DJT and his children before in front of the mob. But most of all HE seeded this for months so nor surprising that those tugs had come to those outrageous actions on the Capitol, house of the people.
USA has now to apply Justice, Law and Order so this fake president pay for his unpatriotic actions and words.
Some are talking of using the 25th amendement but is it enough time to proceed to impeach this idiot?
One thing sure, what happened today did make some in the Capitol change their idea of contesting the election outcome.
Good news is that now the Senate will be more Democrate with the two new Gerogian Senators winning their races.
Such savage behavior on the Canadian Parliment did never happened in the past. We had a gun man few years ago but now the Parliment buiding has more security since.
And it's not on Canadian's way to act to be such polarized in politics. We have many parties that can put infront many different ideologies to better represent the will of our people.
