Any Suggestions?

My one year anniversary of The Closet Professor is coming up on Tuesday.  For a week now I have been trying to come up with what kind of post I should do for this first anniversary.  Since I haven't really come up with anything good, I would love to get any suggestions from you guys out there.  So what do you say?

By the way, I am always open for suggested topics on The Closet Professor, so anytime you want to send me a suggestion, either put it in the comments or email me.

The first thing that came to mind, and I'm not exactly sure how you'd do this...and then maybe that isn't a good idea anyway.

I was reading W.H. Auden's Funeral Blues and thus thinking about gay poets and poetry or maybe gay authors* who share a birthday with your blog, or a particular work sharing birthdays with your blog.

Happy early birthday! :)

*or painters, musicians, dancers, people o' import.

Wow, a year. Mine is in August, and I'm as stumped as you are.

on Writer's track: any important gay event that occurred on your blogday?

Peace <3

Joe: User submitted haiku contest. Start practicing 5, 7, 5 syllables.

OR

Complete the limerick* contest. You give the first line, for example, something like this and people complete it.

There once was a blog run by Joe . . .

*A limerick is a kind of a witty, humorous, or nonsense poem, especially one in five-line anapestic or amphibrachic meter with a strict rhyme scheme (aabba), which is sometimes obscene with humorous intent.

First things First... Congratulations! ...and Happy Anniversary!!!
Okay, I think the above suggestions are great! If not for your Anniversary though -maybe a future series on the gentrification of Homosexuality. You're probably going "Huh???" To elaborate, Gay Life in the 70's-80's was somewhat taboo -and made things even more intriguing. We've come a long way, and thankfully so, but some of that mystique and "dark allure" went missing in the mainstream. From what I've read here, you're one of the few that can nail this one! ...just a thought!

Writer, becca, and Jay, I do think that is what I will do for my blogday. I did a little research and was surprised by what I found.

FOC: I think that would make a great future post. I've never been great at writing a Haiku but I do love a good limerick.

Thanks, Skilled4Men. I don't think that I will be able to put that post together by Tuesday, but I have been thinking about it and maybe I will get it done this week sometime. What a wonderful suggestion.
