Still Recovering

I am still recovering from my tooth extraction. It's just as painful as I expected it to be. My face is swollen, and the whole right side of my face hurts. I took yesterday as a sick day because I knew I wouldn't do any work because of the pain I was in. I just needed a day to relax, and I was able to relax yesterday morning. However, the afternoon was a different story. I had to go to the store, get gas, go to the pharmacy, and get my weekly COVID test for the university. After doing all that, I got home basically in time to leave again for my neurology appointment.

My neurologist was happy that they were able to extract the tooth. She told me that it would take some time to heal, and that time would tell if this was the issue or not. The swelling has to go down before I will know if the pressure on my trigeminal nerve is relieved or not. So, time will tell.

Here's hoping time will tell a happy tale.

I'm surprised you didn't have a pain killer prescription.

As I had many dental surgeries in the past, I can understand your pain.

Lucky for me my dentist has many diplomas and mouth surgery is one of them.
The only one he doesn't have is to provid orthodontic care.

Joe, now for something to take your mind off the pain. A confession by me. When I am feeling down, I take a web adventure to Vermont and your town. There's a great Youtube video of three students driving from the Interstate to the parking lot behind their dorm. I look at the real estate offerings and currently favor the house in the middle of town on sale for $3,100.00. I note that all the eating places save one are closed on Mondays. I look at the Pharmacy on the main square. I wonder what it is like to have a railroad running through the middle of town - how many trains a day and do you hear them at night? You get it. Roderick

Roderick, it's a cute little town. Most everyone is very friendly. It didn't take long for people to know who I was. I think it's the accent, LOL. I like it here, even though I wish I lived in a larger town, there isn't anything in Vermont you can call a real city, not even Burlington.

The house I think you are referring to is a nice house. It's about a block or two away from me.

As for the railroad, currently, i think the train comes thorugh twice a day, since Amtrak is not running right now becasue of the pandemic. When Amtrak is running, it's 4-6 times a day. I could hear it a lot more at my old apartment than at my new one. I barely hear them here. This is also a newer house, so it has more insulation to keep out noise. I do hear a lot of traffic though because I live on Main Street.

I hope that answers some of your questions. You could alwasy sign up to watch my program next Wednesday at noon, sicne you obviously know which museum I work for. It's on the website.

James, I’ve had both of my Pfizer vaccine shots, and on next Thursday, I’ll be fully vaccinated.
