Today is my usual Friday work-from-home day, and thank goodness for that, because our high today is expected to be 16 degrees. π₯Ά
I have absolutely no plans to leave my apartment. I’m staying curled up on my couch, staying warm, getting done what work I need to do, and then monitoring emails for the rest of the day.
Star Trek: Starffleet Academy premiered yesterday, and as a Star Trek fan, I watched it as soon as I could—meaning right after I got home from work. It was better than I expected, though the jury is still out. I’ll definitely keep watching, and I’m hopeful it will find its footing. It seems to have real potential.
Have a great weekend, everyone. Stay warm. π❄️

About 10 p.m., I realized it came out yesterday. So, of course, I had to watch both episodes and then the review by Sean from TrekCulture. It was a good opening. All the nay-sayers seem to want to duplicate a composite of all the best episodes of past series into a new series. Seem to forget it always takes a while for show runners and cast to get their footing. I liked the use of an ASL variant in the second episode!

Where did you be able to see those new Star Trek shows?? I saw the previews but didn't see where it aired. I live in MontrΓ©al as you know so maybe not available or will be later on some Canadian broadcast stations.
Damnit. Just saw it was on AppleTV or Prime... Shit! I don't have those.
I'm old school and not into those new platforms not even Netflix so...
Hope to see it on a regular TV broadcaster, Crave or HBO.
I always watch it on Paramount Plus.
Never mind StarTrek. I enlarged the picture and was amazed how big your “COUCH” is. Kudos.
Oh. Pardon me. It’s really not you, just YOUR couch.

Breaking news, I will be able to see Star Trek Academy on «Canal D», a french channel but i missed the two first ones. I did program it to be recorded on my 4K recorder next Thursday at 22h.
